Dumbbell Shrugs - Exercise Explained Video Series

TRAPS EXERCISES PART 2

Series of videos explaining how to perform bodybuilding exercises. The traps or trapezius, is the flat triangular muscle that extends out and down from the neck and down the center of the back between the shoulder blades. The main exercises used to build the traps are the upright row and the shrug.
In part 2 we are going to explain the dumbell shrugs. To execute the dumbbell shrugs stand with your feet about shoulder width apart and grip a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing your body. Keeping your arms straight, use the dumbbells as a dead weight and allow your traps to lift the shoulders as high as possible in a shrugging motion. At the top of the movement hold the shrug position for 1-2 count, then lower the dumbbells in controlled form back to the starting position.

In these videos heavy weights will not be used as the emphasis is on explaination and correct form.
